Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is a very special day.  I know you are probably expecting me to talk about Taylor's new album, (go buy it, it's so amazing.  And so is she) but it's even MORE important than that.  Barely.  :)  Today my favorite person in the whole world (well, tied with RJ-Bear), is celebrating a BIG birthday.  She is 48, but doesn't look a day over 30.  :)

See?  You can't even tell which one's the mom and which one's the daughter :)

For the first time in what feels like forever, I get to spend the day with her.  To celebrate we drank lattes and made apple crisp for breakfast.  We were going to go to yoga, but now we feel sick from all the apple crisp.  So instead we are off to get a manicure and pedicure and shop for very important things at Target.  (If Taylor's album is sold out I am going to kill someone.  And in case you are wondering, yes, I like to buy the i-tunes version, and the actual CD, and NO I don't think that's weird.  But don't tell RJ.  I believe his words for it were "wasteful" and "stupid".  Like he even understands.)  Tonight we have a special birthday dinner planned with ALMOST all the people we love.

47 + 1. We didn't have an 8.  It's a headless photo because ladies don't publish themselves before 9 am.

If you don't know my mom you should probably meet her immediately.  She is the funniest person I know, hands down.  As I write this she is cracking me up with her hilarious commentary as she simultaneously reads US, and interprets the lyrics of Mumford.  (I obviously love her so much, if I'm allowing anything besides Tay to be played on this sacred day).  Everyone she meets loves her, but I love her most of all, and am so lucky to have a mom who is also my best friend.  We've always acted more like sisters than mother and daughter, which at times can lead to screeching matches about "borrowing" things without asking, and other matters.  But no matter what, she is always the person I turn to for everything.  Being away from her is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, which is what makes today so special.

Happy Birthday Mama.  I love you more than you will ever know.
